Week Five

Picture above is about Basic4Android Course that was held on 11 and 12 October at Lab CISCO on 9.00 am - 4.00 pm organized by UniKL BMI Telecommunication Club (UBTEC). I have participated in these courses as they relate to my FYP project. It suit for student like me who want to learn to develop Android applications in shortest possible time.

What I learnt in this course is how to use Basic4Android, Arduino Uno and Bluetooth V3. The Training Instructor which is En. Safyan Salim, teach us the basic programming and coding that can be apply to Android.

This is a component that have been provided to us

This is a Arduino Uno and Bluetooth that I've been learn to apply to Android

This is to apply Arduino to Andriod  but with LED for the LED is light on and off

Last words from me, I hope this courses can I give my many ideas to make the my project a good FYP and successful. This course also give a certificate to who have attend this course.

I hope that this certificate is useful for the future soon

Week Four

In this week, I'm doing a research about Biometric fingerprint. Paragraph below is the summary research that I’m been doing in this week.

About Fingerprint Technology

Fingerprint recognition is generally considered the most practical choice for its reliability, non intrusive interfaces, and cost-effectiveness. The uniqueness of a fingerprint can be determined by this pattern of ridges and furrows. The fingerprint scanner captures an image of the fingerprint and uses complex fingerprint identification algorithms to either convert the image into a unique "map" of minutiae points or analyze the pattern. Minutiae points are local ridge characteristics that occur at either a ridge bifurcation (split) or a ridge ending.

How does the fingerprint reader work?

An authorized person has their fingerprint physical characteristic scanned and turned into a numerical algorithm which is then entered into a database. The authorized person must subsequently provide that same fingerprint physical characteristic for example, their fingerprint ,to be read and recognized by the fingerprint reader before access is granted.

Week Three

MY DRAFT RESEARCH

FINGERPRINT TO ACCESS CONTROL...

Revolutionary biometric access control system is mostly spoken of as reliable access control technique and fingerprint access control mechanism is a part of it. Fingerprint access control provides a vital keyless entry system to house or business owners. Fingerprint access control has foiled the previously used door lock/ entry system.

Fingerprint access control is considered as the most reliable and secure access control method as every human being has distinct structures on fingers. In fingerprint access control, the fingerprint system first reads the print of the finger and matches it against the digital print image that has already been taken and stored in database.

ANDROID...

Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google. It is used by several smartphones, such as the Motorola Droid, the Samsung Galaxy, and Google's own Nexus One.

The Android operating system (OS) is based on the open Linux kernel. Unlike the iPhone OS, Android is open source, meaning developers can modify and customize the OS for each phone. Therefore, different Android-based phones may have different graphical user interfaces GUIs even though they use the same OS.

Android phones typically come with several built-in applications and also support third-party programs. Developers can create programs for Android using the free Android SDK (Software Developer Kit). Android programs are written in Java and run through Google's "Davlik" virtual machine, which is optimized for mobile devices. Users can download Android "apps" from the online Android Market.

Week Two

Submit Project Title of FYP

In this week, I have chosen my supervisor Madam Noor Hidayah Binti Mohd Yunus as a supervisor for my FYP project. It is because, she is the best for my FYP project supervision. After discussion and deliberation, my supervisor has agreed with the title "Development of Android-Based Biomectric Recognication To Open Control System". I agree with this topic because this topic is very appropriate with Mobile Engineering student like me. I hope this subject can increase my knowledge and useful for my future after graduation and employment.
